Walkerville Brewery wins international marketing award

Hoist a pint to Walkerville Brewery for receiving an international marketing award for the branding of its ale and lager.
“Craft beer is all about attention to detail, using the highest quality ingredients and making something that holds its own against the large brands,” said Tom Scully, Walkerville Brewery sales and marketing manager, in a news release. “It only makes sense that our marketing materials speak to that uniqueness and carry our brand forward.”
Creative International Awards, an independent international advertising and graphic design competition that showcases leading-edge design, picked Walkerville Brewery for the Silver Creativity International Award. The competition includes breweries in 32 countries, three provinces and 22 U.S. states. Judges are advertising and design professionals who volunteer their time. New judges are selected each year.
Walkerville is a microbrewery situated in the area developed by Hiram Walker over 150 years ago. The brewery occupies an 18,000-square-foot building once known as Surge Plant 16 and is located blocks away from the original Walkerville Brewing Company, established in 1890.
“Linking the brewery with the deep history of prohibition added a much needed historical element to the brewery and tells a story that was so instrumental to the Walkerville area’s growth and success,” says Liz Farano, vice-president of Douglas Marketing Group, which designed the marketing material.
