TRW Automotive is in growth mode.
The Tier One parts supplier to the Windsor Assembly Plant will not only be moving into a bigger facility, it will add 60 workers to its payroll as it gears up for Chrysler Group’s launch of the next generation minivan.
“It will take us into a new generation of manufacturing technology,” said Dave Hammond, plant manager at TRW, which currently employs 220 workers who assemble transmission systems. “It’s definitely going to be state of the art.”
The supply chain that feeds one of the region’s biggest private sector employers is under pressure to meet unprecedented demand stemming from Chrysler’s plan to assemble current and new models simultaneously as well as build enough current product to cover a three-month shutdown early next year.
