Toronto, ON (September 8, 2014): The Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association (APMA) announced today that Flavio Volpe has been appointed its new President. Flavio brings with him a wealth of international and transnational private sector development experience and high-level industry specific public sector experience with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure and Industry Canada. Flavio's experience pursuing and negotiating Original Equipment Manufacturer investments in Ontario brings an exciting new perspective to the APMA.

Flavio, a graduate of the Schulich School of Business MBA program, takes over from Steve Rodgers who successfully advocated for the competitiveness of the Canadian supply chain as the global industry emerged from the economic downturn of the last 5 years.

APMA is Canada's national association representing OEM producers of parts, equipment, tools, supplies and services for the worldwide automotive industry.  The Association was founded in 1952 and its members account for ninety percent of parts production in Canada. In 2013, automotive parts shipments were in excess of $24 Billion and the industry employment level was over 80,000 people.

APMA's fundamental objective is to promote the OE automotive supply manufacturing industry both domestically and internationally.
