The Windsor Family Credit Union is launching a program to help Heinz employees affected by the company’s decision to end operations in Leamington.
The credit union will provide financial advice for Heinz workers and a bonus GIC rate on new money invested for a year or longer.
The program ”is designed to provide WFCU members and non-members with temporary assistance during the transition of the Heinz closure,” the credit union said in a release.
Heinz has signed a letter of intent with a newly-formed company called Highbury Canco to take over operations at the plant and provide co-packing services for the food giant. Heinz is scheduled to cease operating in Leamington in June.
Anyone interested in taking part in the program can call 519-974-3100 for more information.
