Windsor-Essex County, Ontario, Friday, January 31, 2014 - Over one hundred representatives from education, and many youth related agencies and organizations attended the Windsor-Essex & Chatham-Kent Region Youth Jobs Strategy Idea Forum today, held at the Ciociaro Club in Oldcastle.

The WindsorEssex Small Business Centre in partnership with the Ontario Government, WeTech Alliance and the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre hosted this forum to discuss ways to help youth find jobs and ensure employers can hire the skilled workforce they need to thrive in today’s economy.

Panel presentations included a ‘Youth’ Panel that explained how young people today feel about their employment prospects. The panelists also shared what led them to their non-traditional career paths they are currently in. The youth panelists included employees from Valiant Machine & Tool Inc., CS Wind Canada, Daedas Inc. and Naguset ElderCare Inc.

An ‘Employment’ Panel discussed topics such as, what they foresee are the jobs of the future; what employers want and need from their future workforce.
