The Economic Development Corporation, the City of Windsor & HGS Canada Announces
City is shortlisted for 500 Seat Job Contact Centre!

Windsor-Essex, Ontario, October 18th, 2013 – The WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation, the City of Windsor and HGS Canada Inc. are very pleased to announce that Windsor, Ontario has been shortlisted for a potential new HGS Canada Contact Centre.   The next step in the site selection process is a job fair event for the global company who is looking to open a potential 500 seat facility in the Windsor area.  HGS Canada will evaluate the local labour market in hopes of locating hundreds of quality new jobs in the City of Windsor, which would include frontline customer service associates, as well as, support and management level positions.

HGS Canada’s groundwork for further expansion began earlier in the year when the company began researching a number of potential locations across Canada. “We recently assessed several cities in Canada, and our analysis of the City of Windsor is very encouraging” said Ross Beattie, President  & CEO of HGS Canada. “Although we are a global company, we pride ourselves on being good local corporate citizens and a community minded employer.   Expansion to a 12th site is inevitable as the business growth before us is great enough to fill and sustain a 500 seat facility” adds Mr. Beattie.

“It has been a pleasure for the City of Windsor to work with HGS Canada leading up to this next phase in their process, sharing all of the benefits we have to offer, including the city-wide CIP.  This is another indication that when companies are looking for a good place to invest, Windsor is top of mind,” said Mayor Eddie Francis.

Expansion is nothing new for HGS, who opened four new sites in Canada in the past three years.  This growth began in Thunder Bay in 2010 followed by North Bay in early 2011, Belleville in the summer of 2012, and culminated just a few months ago when Barrie launched in June of 2013.

The Windsor Job Fair will take place at the Caboto Club located at 2175 Parent Avenue, on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th.  HGS Canada representatives will be on site between 10am to 7pm of both days to discuss the value of employment with HGS Canada.  It is the perfect opportunity for interested individuals to find out more about the company and learn about employment and career opportunities with HGS Canada.

“We invite everyone to attend this job fair to see and hear all about the potential of working for a stellar company like HGS Canada.” stated Sandra Puaptello, President and CEO of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation.

HGS Canada is accepting applications for the potential new site in Windsor, Ontario.
