For Immediate Release

Windsor-Essex County, Ontario, Thursday, September 12, 2013 - The Windsor-Essex Employment Ontario Employment Services Providers have collaboratively developed the Windsor-Essex Youth Employment Success Strategies (YESS) to support the implementation of the Youth Employment Fund in our region.

The Employment Ontario Employment Service Providers are looking forward to providing more than 200 local youth with extensive skills training, placement opportunities and additional supports available through the Youth Employment Fund.

The initial stage of the YESS will include outreach to local employers to let them know about the incentives that are available to them for providing training and employment opportunities for youth. The Employment Ontario Employment Services Network will be hosting community and employer events to discuss the Youth Employment Fund in detail and facilitate further collaboration and partnerships in the region.

The Windsor-Essex YESS will also include the implementation of the Youth Employment Soft Skills Certificate that provides the youth participants with additional soft skills training to prepare them for the workplace. This certificate will be branded and promoted in the community to enhance the awareness of the importance of soft skills.

"Creating jobs and growing the economy is the number one priority of our government.  I am pleased that the Employment Ontario Service Network has brought the Windsor-Essex community together for a united effort to get full benefit from the Youth Employment Fund.  Our young people will get training and jobs while employers will benefit as any skills shortages in our region are addressed." - Hon. Teresa Piruzza, MPP Windsor West
