Windsor-Essex Business Development Mission to Poland

Friday, November 23, 2018

The WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation is exploring the possibility of coordinating a Business Development Mission to Poland in May 2019. To that end, we are seeking expressions of interest for participation from our local companies.

The Mission would have three (3) major tracks / programs:

  1. Education: explore student and/or professor exchanges, international student recruitment, opportunities for research collaboration.
  2.  Industry: including business development for existing W-E companies, business attraction (FDI) and talent recruitment.
  3. Government: good will, possibly Federal, Provincial and Municipal participation.

The dates currently being considered are Saturday, May 11 – Saturday, May 18, 2019.

The mission would include the cities of Warsaw, Chelm and Lublin (which is Windsor’s Sister City).

At this point in the planning/evaluation process we are reaching out to local companies for an expression of interest in participating. Once we have an indication of the number and types of companies, we will be able to complete the development of the Program agendas, including arranging business to business meetings with potential Polish customer or partners.

The following link provides a brief snapshot of the Polish economy, an outline of key industry opportunities and some background information on existing Windsor-Essex-Poland connections.

If you may be interested in participating, please inform us by emailing my colleague Holly Connelly at, or by telephone at 519-997-2398.

Warm regards,

Stephen MacKenzie
