2018 Scholars Honoured at the ATHENA Scholarship Luncheon

(WINDSOR, ON)  The ATHENA Scholarship Fund (Windsor) and the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that the 19th Annual ATHENA Scholarship Luncheon will take place Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Fogolar Furlan Windsor. 

Guest speaker for this year’s luncheon is Shelley Fellows, Vice-President of Operations, Radix Inc. Her presentation is titled “Fierce Leadership”.

The luncheon will also spotlight three local young scholars who will be presented with their official ATHENA Scholarship Awards. This year’s recipients are: Sydney Chapados, Erin Dufour and Holly Nicholson.

Selection criteria for this scholarship program include community involvement, potential for leadership, academic excellence and inspiring women to reach their full potential. The scholarships are valued at $5,000 each. The scholarship recipients will be on hand to make a brief presentation about their educational experience and career aspirations.

According to Loretta Stoyka, President of the ATHENA Scholarship Fund (Windsor), this scholarship program is in keeping with the ATHENA philosophy, which maintains that by elevating people with potential and solid values, they will be exceptional role models. It is believed by example that others will be inspired to achieve excellence. Windsor is at the forefront of the scholarship program and continues to make improvements to the opportunity each year.

This year’s ATHENA Scholarship Luncheon will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Fogolar Furlan with a reception at 11:30 a.m., luncheon program at 12 noon, concluding at 1:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $45 for adults and $30 for students (HST included).
