Tecumseh site is PCS Company's first Canadian distribution centre
A Michigan-based molding supply company opened its first Canadian distribution centre in Tecumseh Thursday.
The new site marks a "key part" of the PCS Company's plans to speed up deliveries, according to director of sales Bruce Konopinski.
"We have plenty of room at this warehouse to expand the current product offering," he added. "We are also very confident that locating in the Windsor-Essex region makes great business sense."
The company, established in 1960, is a global supplier of mold bases, and components for the plastic and die cast industries.
Local officials praised the expansion.
"This is a tool and die area and we take a great pride in our automotive areas here and what we do here," said Essex County Warden Tom Bain. "I feel you're going to fit in perfectly."
Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara thanked PCS for choosing the town as its location in a press release.
Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation CEO Stephen McKenzie echoed those words.
"We are delighted you will be joining our very strong and vibrant manufacturing sector and home to the largest machine, toll, die and mold cluster in North America."
