[Media Advisory] Business Continuity Planning Education Seminar

Windsor-Essex County, Ontario, Monday, October 19, 2015 – In partnership with Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation is pleased to host an education seminar presented by Pearson Dunn Insurance Inc. on Business Continuity Planning on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
This information session provides the knowledge and resources to develop a framework for a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) or evaluate a BCP currently in place with the following key objectives:
- Understand the importance of having a Business Contingency Plan and Succession Plan to carry out business activities after an incident. How BCP works hand-in-hand with your overall Risk Management objectives.
- Identify the steps required to minimize risk and mitigate down time to your company and resources when disaster strikes.
- Create a risk assessment checklist to identify gaps and ensure legal compliance and adequate financial protection.
Representatives from Bonduelle in Tecumseh will be sharing their experiences and the lessons learned on recovering from the fire a little over a year ago that caused $50M in damages to their Tecumseh food processing facility. Speakers from Pearson Dunn Insurance include: Z. Linda Papadopoulos, Chris McFarland and Trevor Waldron.
This seminar will be held at Ciociaro Club in Salon F and commences at 7:30 AM with Registration & Breakfast followed by the Business Continuity Planning Presentation and concluding at 11:30 AM.
