Windsor ranks second for business friendliness in international awards

Windsor has made an international list for its friendliness to businesses just weeks after its unemployment rate soared to the highest it has been since December 2010.
Windsor came second in the small city category for business friendliness, ahead of Waterloo, Burlington and Cambridge, according to rankings of the American Cities of the Future. Chattanooga, Tenn., came first.
The rankings compare about 420 cities from North, Central and South America and are compiled by fDi Magazine, a publication of The Financial Times. Windsor was compared with about 200 small cities on its potential for foreign direct investment.
“I think this ranking reinforces what we know and what we’re out selling every day: we are a good place to do business. But we know that we have a lot of competition,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens, referencing several cities in the southern U.S. that also made the list, such as Mobile, Ala., and Plano, Texas. [Read More]
