A Windsor woman looking to grow her personal home care business was the recipient of $2,470 in the latest Windsor SOUP event Sunday night.

Margaret Lewis, whose company Nashell’s will go into the home of people and provide one-on-one care to people who need assistance with daily living, will use the money to help pay for insurance to expand the business.

Lewis worked at Caesars Windsor until 2005 and then went to school to become a personal support worker.

“I said I need something more ‘me,’” said Lewis. “I went in, I tried it out, and I loved it.”

Lewis will also provide services such as housekeeping, grocery shopping, yard work, assistance with medication, help with showering and bathing and provide general companionship.

Sunday’s was the eighth Windsor SOUP event, modelled after similar crowdfunding events in Detroit.
