Women’s Executive Network Names Sandra Pupatello -2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner

Windsor-Essex County, Ontario - Thursday, November 27, 2014 – Shelley Fellows, Board Chair of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that today, Sandra Pupatello, CEO of the WindsorEssex Economic  Development Corporation has been named - 2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) in the Sun Life Financial Trailblazers & Trendsetters category. 

Pupatello has been recognized and is being honoured for her ability to facilitate strong connections between colleagues, clients and other stakeholders. Sandra has demonstrated a passion for public service as well through her role as a cabinet minister in the Government of Ontario, where at one point she was one of just three women in her caucus.

"Sandra is one of the most entrepreneurial people I know with a focus on being the best and making the most of every day. She is a powerhouse for our region, our province and our country.   We are very proud of her achievement and know that we haven't seen anything yet" said, Shelley Fellows, Board Chair of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation.

The WXN Top 100 Awards recognize Canada’s strong, fearless female leaders who have become agents of change in reshaping Canadian organizations at the highest level. Since its inception over a decade ago, more than 800 accomplished female leaders have received a prestigious Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award and 106 have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Winners are selected based on their management role, vision and leadership, corporate performance and their commitment to their communities. Pupatello joins an elite group of Top 100 Award Winners that includes some of Canada’s most iconic women trailblazers, such as Dr. Roberta Bondar, astronaut; Arlene Dickinson, Chief Executive Officer, Venture Communications; Christine Magee, President, Sleep Country Canada; Kathleen Taylor, Chair of the Board, Royal Bank of Canada and Michaëlle Jean, former Governor General of Canada.
