Amherstburg, October 2, 2014: Today, the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) held their Ontario West Leadership Group annual meeting in the Town of Amherstburg. As a long standing industry partner, the Town of Amherstburg and its Economic and Community Development Department extended the invitation to the group and welcomed this occasion to plan and coordinate the event with the CIAC.
This event was also generously sponsored by the Windsor Family Credit Union.
The event provided an opportunity to showcase the Town of Amherstburg and its available industrial development opportunities, recent infrastructure investments, and strategic location for industrial expansion.
This two-day event took place at the Libro Centre at 3295 Meloche Road on October 1 and 2, 2014. This event included the annual general membership meeting, a presentation by Amico Infrastructures on the Herb Gray Parkway Project, and a presentation from Sandra Pupatello, CEO of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation. The CIAC Ontario West Leadership Group will also embark on a tour of local industrial sites within the Town of Amherstburg, guided by Tony De Thomasis, Director of Economic and Community Development.
“I am delighted to be a part of this CIAC meeting agenda and to highlight the assets and advantages of doing business in our region, so they know just how business friendly and investment ready we really are,” said Sandra Pupatello, CEO WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation.
“The Town of Amherstburg has taken strategic measures to strengthen and advance our infrastructure in an effort to attract new industrial investment and create additional employment opportunities. We are proud to showcase our beautiful community to the CIAC” said Tony DeThomasis, Director of Economic and Community Development.
The Town welcomes the CIAC Ontario West Leadership Group to Amherstburg and looks forward to future opportunities to showcase industrial opportunities and economic growth potential in the area.
