Reko International Group announced Monday it has signed a three-year, $27.5-million contract with a global manufacturer — one of the biggest deals in the history of the Lakeshore-based company.
“This agreement will have a significant impact upon our sales and operations, and shows confidence in our ability to machine critical components in a competitive and consistent manner,” said Diane Reko, CEO of the company that employs about 200 people.
Reko said the new business means additional hiring of at last six employees. The company will need such employees as machinists, CMM operators and general labourers.
She would not disclose the identity of the customer except to say the company was not in the automotive industry. Reko has customers in various sectors including automotive, rail equipment, oil and gas distribution, mining, military and capital equipment. [Read More]
