Windsor to reap multimillion-dollar solar windfall

Windsor will pocket millions simply by leasing airport lands, that would otherwise remain untouched, to global technology behemoth Samsung for construction of a giant solar farm.
The deal with a subsidiary of the Korean multinational corporation for a renewable energy project would see a 400-acre solar-panel facility — with a capacity of 50 megawatts of power — built on Windsor International Airport lands to be leased out for a period of up to 24 years. The municipality would collect $25 million in total taxes and land lease payments.
