Windsor’s Going to be Hopping in May

May is shaping up to be a busy and bountiful month for the city of Windsor.

Five high-profile events will dominate the pool at the new Windsor International Aquatic & Training Centre starting with this weekend’s Amanda Reason Invitational and its expected field of almost 1,000 swimmers.

The facility will host several hundred more competitors for the Dive Ontario 2014 Summer Provincials May 9-11. Nearly 1,000 hit town May 16-19 for the Canadian Masters Swimming Championships and another 700 are expected May 21-15 for the Ontario Open Age Group Synchronized Swimming championships.

But the mother of all weekends kicks off Friday, May 30.

The 2014 FINA Diving World Series brings the top 80 divers in the world to the WIATC and while the field is small in comparison to other events, the appeal is expected to attract spectators from all over North America. [Read More]
