Website Welcoming Newcomers Under Development

Blackburn News/Ricardo Veneza

A new website to welcome immigrants and newcomers to Windsor-Essex is set to launch in August alongside the new County of Essex website.

Michelle Suchiu with the Windsor-Essex Local Immigation Partnership says they’ve been collaborating with the county on the project for a few months now. Suchiu says the site will allow immigrants and newcomers to search for settlement services, language classes as well as medical care among other options.

“It’s exciting to know the community is on board,” says Suchiu. “Stakeholders want to share their information and make Windsor-Essex a more welcoming region for newcomers.”

The County of Essex received a $140,000 grant from the province to develop the website.
