People with electric vehicles will soon have a place in downtown Windsor to charge up.

The City of Windsor is launching a one-year pilot project at the aquatic centre with a Level 2 charging station.

Councillor Drew Dilkens says for one year the service will be free to study the amount of uptake to the service. “Two people will be able to charge at the same time. It’s considered a Level 2 charging station which is one of the faster charging options. So if you’re in the aquatic centre two hours or three hours you should be able to get a pretty hefty charge during that time.”

Dilkens says he hopes more people will consider electric vehicles if charging options are made available.
