Ontario Helps CenterLine Expand Manufacturing Capacity

(WINDSOR) - Ontario is helping CenterLine (Windsor) Limited
establish a centre of excellence in welding and expand its manufacturing floor while creating 31 new jobs and retaining 482 existing positions in Windsor.
The company is an industry leader in the design, manufacturing and supply of products and services for the automotive, mass transit, aerospace and defense industries.
With support from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund
, CenterLine will establish a centre of excellence in welding to train the next generation of automotive engineers, expand its manufacturing floor by 32,000 square feet and invest in machinery to manufacture automation equipment demanded by North America’s largest automotive companies.
Modelled on the proven Eastern Ontario Development Fund
, the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund is helping to create jobs and diversify the economy by encouraging regional businesses to pursue innovation and new markets. Together these two funds have created and retained more than 22,000 jobs and strengthened local economies.
Providing the right climate to attract investment, create jobs and grow the economy is part of the government’s plan to build a prosperous and fair province.

Ontario is providing a grant of more than $1 million towards the project.
Ontario is accepting applications for the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund from qualified businesses that are growing and creating jobs.
Sectors eligible for the fund include advanced manufacturing, processing, life sciences, information and communications technology, tourism and cultural industries.
Since October 2012, the government has committed $30 million through Southwestern Ontario Development Funding, attracting a total investment of $285 million. These investments have helped to create over 1,600 new jobs and retained more than 5,400 existing jobs.
