Youth jobs fund announced
The Windsor Star
The Ontario government has announced plans to create more than 30,000 job opportunities for youth across the province with the launch of four funds as part of an overall $295-million investment.
The two-year funding is for four initiatives, including skills development, internship opportunities, youth-led business opportunities and job-training placements. There is no indication yet how much of this money will end up in Windsor and Essex County.
Youth unemployment across Ontario is at 16.4 per cent, more than twice the overall rate of 7.5 per cent.
