His Excellency Raoul Delcorde, Ambassador of Belgium to Canada Speaks at a Roundtable
Hosted by the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation
Windsor, Essex County, Ontario – Wednesday, May 18, 2016 – On Thursday, May 19, 2016 His Excellency Raoul Delcorde the Ambassador of Belgium to Canada will meet with local companies to discuss the many benefits of the European Union-Canada Trade Agreement (CETA) and the importance of positioning their companies to take advantage of the opportunities that will come with the ratification of CETA. We invite the media to be part of this event.
The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a free trade agreement between Canada and the European Union. The negotiations were concluded in August 2014. The agreement is to be approved by the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament. When approved, the agreement would eliminate 98% of the tariffs between Canada and the EU.
In an effort for the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation to inform local businesses about preparing for CETA, this breakfast roundtable with Ambassador Raoul Delcorde is the first in a series of information sessions the corporation will organize.
Rakesh Naidu, CEO (Interim) WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation stated, “There is no doubt that CETA will be an opportunity with great benefits for the Windsor-Essex region: as such, it is incumbent upon us and our local businesses to prepare to take advantage of these vast opportunities.”
