Open Call for Programs at DWBIA’s Afternoon in the Alley

Dates:  May 28 - Oct. 8, 2016
Location: Maiden Lane and Pelissier Street

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) is seeking submissions from interested parties who wish to organize creative and artistic programs as part of Afternoon in the Alley. Afternoon in the Alley is a series of programs spearheaded by talented local musicians, artists and creators that will take place in downtown Windsor for 10 (ten) Saturdays starting from May 28, 2016. This is an all-new event that the DWBIA hopes will capture the wide array of artistic and creative talent within Windsor and Essex County, while creating a vibrant atmosphere for downtown visitors and residents over the course of four months. The slated time for programs will be between 1:00pm and 9:00pm.

The DWBIA will be awarding selected applicants up to $1,500 to cover programming costs.

Selection Criteria Applicant must demonstrate the following:

  • A creative and concise programming schedule that will keep crowds entertained for the entire time slot (1:00pm to 9:00pm).
  • Programming that captures the art and atmosphere of Maiden Lane.
  • A demonstration of how you will engage downtown Windsor residents and visitors.
  • Programs that are suitable for all ages.
