Windsor whisky named best in Canada

CTV News (Windsor)

A whisky distilled in Windsor has been named the best Canadian whisky for 2015 at the sixth annual Canadian Whisky Awards.

A panel of ten whisky experts named Lot No. 40 the winner, with Chairman of the judges, David de Kergommeaux calling it “A rye whisky sensation.”
Lot No. 40 beat out Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye which was named World Whisky of the Year 2016 by respected authority on all things whisky, writer Jim Murray.

The Canadian Whisky Awards are designed to recognize the best in Canadian whiskies and to encourage distillers to maintain high standards for making whisky.

To qualify for the award a whisky must be distilled and matured in Canada.
