Canadian auto suppliers can sharpen their collective pencils and start applying for federal funds aimed at research and innovation.
Gary Goodyear, the Minister of State, announced that applications for the Automotive Supplier Innovation Program were now being accepted.
He made the announcement Wednesday at the annual conference for the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association held at Caesars Windsor.
The plan to provide $100 million over five years was originally unveiled in April as part of the federal budget.
“They gave us exactly what we asked for,” said Flavio Volpe, president of APMA. “It’s good news.”
