Housing sales on the rise in Windsor-Essex

New figures released by the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors reveal a 25.7 per cent spike in residential sales last month compared to April 2014.
Last April, 463 properties sold in Windsor-Essex County at an average price of $190,476. That number jumped to 582 sales last month, and the average price rose to $199,586.
“These numbers indicate that consumer confidence is very strong in Windsor,” said WECAR president Cameron Paine. He attributes this confidence to Windsor’s strong job market and automotive industry, fortified by Chrysler’s $2-billion investment in its Windsor Assembly Plant in January.
“This will ultimately lead to more home sales and increased property value,” he said. “For the last several years it has been a buyers’ market, but now it has shifted to a sellers’
