A forecasted trend in the growth of wholesale trade was one of the highlights uncovered in a study by Workforce WindsorEssex and unveiled to county council.
Tanya Antoniw, executive director of Workforce WindsorEssex, told councillors last Wednesday that health care and social assistance needs are also forecasted to increase in Windsor and Essex County due to the growing and aging population.
Antoniw said the year-long research project titled Community Data Profiles looked into “labour force, demographic, educational attainment and forecasting information for each of the municipalities in Windsor-Essex.”
“Today was our first presentation (of the data),” Antoniw said. “It will be available on our website workforcewindsoressex.com for anybody to access and use and see what’s going on in their local municipality.
“We hope this data will be a handy guide for people as they are going out and attracting new business or businesses are looking to expand … they can use this data whether it’s in an application to say ‘hey we are a very competitive region and we have a lot to offer.’”
