University of Windsor plans faculty hiring spree as part of 2.0 reboot

The University of Windsor on Monday announced it’s going on a faculty hiring spree and launching a series of new strategies to market itself and attract new students, all the while proudly highlighting the city it calls home.

“We are a great university, and we will be a greater university,” U of W president Alan Wildeman said in announcing “UWindsor 2.0″ to several hundred faculty, students and guests.

“The Windsor name is one we should celebrate, embrace and promote,” he said in response to those who spread the “hogwash and defeatist” message that the University of Windsor’s reputation is brought down by alleged negative perceptions of its host city.

“The desire to see universities be positive sources in their communities has never been greater,” said Wildeman.
