Workforce Windsor Essex is conducting an online survey of local employers to get a better handle on the skills gap. - CLICK HERE FOR THE SURVEY

The EmployerOne Survey of local employers and business owners started  Friday and runs until Jan. 31. Results could be released in March.

Information online at Workforce Windsor Essex said local employers have been noting a skills gap and the survey is designed to collect information on labour turnover, hard-to-fill positions, recruitment difficulties, and current and future skills shortages so the community-based board can attempt to respond to the needs of local employers.

The survey was created three years ago by the Workforce Development Board in the Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford region after a Statistics Canada survey was cancelled. This year, all the Southwestern Workforce Development Boards are using the EmployerOne Survey.

The local group is looking for employers and business owners whether they are the sole proprietor or have a staff of thousands. For more information contact 519-255-6545.
